BIOGRAPHY

Born to a musical family in Berlin.

 

At 13 years old he sang as a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic under the direction of Seiji Ozawa.

Studied violin and composition in Vienna where he specialised in symphonic composing and arranging for cinema.

​

In 2005 he served as musical director at the Sydney Opera House, conducting the piece Boulevard Delirium.

Founder and Singer of the ‘Salonorchester Alhambra’.

In 2006, after having won the ‘Frederic Mompou International Award’ for the ‘Young Composer Competition’ (Barcelona) he began working as Professor of Composition at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona.

Under his direction the film Blancanieves debuted with a live orchestra in the Gran Teatro del Liceu (Barcelona), having also conducted various symphonic orchestras such as the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, The Basque National Orchestra, The Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Orchestra of Extremadura, The Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra

2006 - 2013 Professor of Composition at the Liceu Conservatory (Barcelona)

2021 - 2022 Professor of Film Scoring at the Liceu Conservatory (Barcelona)

 

Awards:

 

  • Participation as composer in the soundtrack of "Blancanieves," nominated for the Oscars and winner of Goya and Gaudí awards in 2013 for Best Soundtrack.

  • Nominated for the "Helpmann Award 2006" (Sydney, Australia) for Best Musical Direction.

  • Winner of the "Frederic Mompou International Award"  2005 (Barcelona)

  • Winner of the "Green Room Award 2005" (Melbourne, Australia for Best Musical Direction
